Sustainability
We at Gangvidefarm strives to have as little impact on the environment as possible through a range of measures that promote sustainability and reduce our and our guests' carbon footprint. Here are some of the initiatives we are implementing to create a more sustainable place to stay, live and visit.
energy from solar cells
With 300 solar panels on the roof, we produce a whopping 60 kWh of energy per year. This electricity is used not only to run our own operations but also to charge our electric vehicles, as part of our environmentally friendly transportation system.
Electric vehicles for greener operation
We use electric cars, electric mopeds and electric loaders in our operations, which reduces both emissions and fuel consumption. We also offer our guests the opportunity to rent bicycles to get around the area easily and sustainably.
Food cycle and sustainable food production
We actively work to close the loop by feeding our food waste to our chickens, who in turn provide us with fresh eggs for breakfast. This is a simple but effective way to reduce food waste and create more sustainable food production.
Education and inspiration for guests
We believe in inspiring our guests and giving them an insight into the history of energy development, from the past to the present. Through our concept See, feel, try – it's real! gives guests the opportunity to experience sustainability and innovation in a tangible way. Through practical and engaging experiences, we can all become more aware of how we can contribute to a more sustainable future.
Electric car charger for our guests
As part of our work for a better climate and a reduced carbon footprint, we offer electric car chargers to all our guests. We want to make it easy and convenient for you to charge your electric car during your visit with us.
Locally produced food and drinks
To reduce our footprint, we choose to use locally produced ingredients, which also supports the business community in our region. And with extensive experience in organic farming, we can offer fresh and sustainable alternatives to our guests.
Sustainable water use
We have very good water that is food-grade and tested, we have our own well that provides us with clean water for the entire operation. By making water-saving installations to reduce the amount of water we ensure that we use water in a responsible and sustainable way.
Low-energy lighting and light art
Our farm is equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting, and we are proud to be able to showcase one of Sweden's largest Osram lighting exhibitions. Here our guests get a chance to see both artistic and technological innovation in a sustainable context.
